Previously, the sill profile ‘Sill Original’ of Sky-Frame 3 had a groove for attaching a weather board and the gutters. The groove meant that the area underneath was < 50 mm for foil connections and no longer complied with current standards.
For this reason, it was decided to remove the groove from Sky-Frame 3 so that the surface is now >= 50 mm high in accordance with the standards. At this point, a fine bead now also indicates that the liquid plastic / foil may only be applied up to this height (drainage must remain free).
A new weather board with an alternative attachment to the profile therefore had to be developed. The gutter attachment had already been implemented at an earlier stage.
The sill profiles of Sky-Frame 1+2 remain in place with the groove. The new weather board is also attached there via the weather board bracket.
This change has no effect on the driving rain or air tightness.
As before, the weather boards can be coated in all surface qualities.
Installation: The new weather board is simply pushed onto the fixing brackets prepared at the factory from the front.
This change had a major impact on the documentation.
Among other things, 3 new building connection pages ("parapet wall") for the new weather board have appeared in the technical documentation:
The ‘weather board’ has now been described in detail in the installation instructions:
Bottom: Longitudinal butt plate / Corner butt plate (supplied automatically)
The following documents have been updated:
The changeover will take place on 29.01.2025.
This means that all Sky-Frame 3 orders placed in the webshop from 29 January 2025 will be executed with the new, flat sill profile and the new weather board.
