With this announcement, we are informing all sales partners of the switch to the new "PD-200" drive and the newly developed "Touch" control button.
NEW GENERATION DRIVE: SKY-FRAME POWER-DRIVE 200
The market is constantly evolving – and with it, the demands placed on modern sliding systems. Larger and heavier sliding elements are increasingly being installed, requiring the highest levels of performance and reliability.
With the new drive system, Sky-Frame presents a pioneering solution that sets new standards in terms of application flexibility and comfort.
Therefore, Sky-Frame has developed a new, more powerful drive: the Sky-Frame Power-Drive 200 (PD-200)
The control unit is pre-configured at the factory whilst the Power-Drive 200 is being assembled to exacting standards and fully wired. This enables particularly quick and easy installation, as well as efficient commissioning. Thanks to its compact design, the drive requires little space above the soffit profile. Manual emergency closing in the event of a power failure is guaranteed. The Power-Drive 200 thus combines sophisticated technology with high flexibility and reliable ease of use.
The drive PD-200 has been designed exclusively for Sky-Frame and will be introduced as the new standard from September 2026.
The designation and classification as the feature "Drive" will remain unchanged.
Facts:
Retail price:
The retail price for the new PD-200 drive remains unchanged.
Additionally, one position monitoring (P) is required.
The power supply (24 VDC, 3 ADC per drive) must be provided on site.
Installation + Position:
The new PD-200 drive will be installed in the same position as the drive SI-1000. The control unit will also be housed (accessible from below) within the soffit profile and accessible via a service opening.
Due to the installation position, the drive will require even less space above the soffit profile than before; however, the drive hood will be slightly longer. The principle of a "Master" drive (longer hood, due to the service opening) and the other "Slave" drives (shorter hoods) will continue to apply.
Comparison of drive hood sizes:
Operation:
Operation is carried out as before via on-site buttons, a building automation system or using the new "Touch" 2.0 control button.
Manual operation of the elements (e.g. in the event of a power failure) will still be possible, but will require greater physical effort. For countries with a higher risk of power failures, we recommend that an electrician installs an independent power supply (UPS / battery); the UPS is not included in our scope of supply.
CONTROL BUTTON "TOUCH" 2.0
With the development of the new drive PD-200, it was also necessary to rethink the "Touch" control button. The new generation of "Touch" offers, among other things, a greater wireless range and a longer battery life.
The look, feel and the light guide with the LED status indication remain unchanged.
Together with the drive PD-200, extended functionalities will be possible in future. Details will follow at a later date.
Compatibility:
The new control button "Touch" 2.0 can also be used in existing systems with the old drive SI-1000 (compatible). It is therefore particularly suitable as a replacement control button.
For retrofits, the existing housing can remain in place and does not need to be remade or recoated.
This ensures that our entire system portfolio remains consistent both now and in the future.
QUESTIONS:
What does the "200" in PD-200 stand for?
This means that the new drive can pull up to 200 N = 20 kilograms (previously max. 150 N).
Is it possible to retrofit or convert from the old drive SI-1000 to the new PD-200?
No, this is not possible due to the different design and power supply.
Can you choose between the PD-200 and the SI-1000?
No, the PD-200 will completely replace the SI-1000 and become the new standard drive.
Can the new "Touch" 2.0 be used with older systems that have the previous "Touch"?
Yes, it is fully compatible. The existing housing can be retained.
