Possible colour deviations in Eloxal and Colinal coatings for aluminium, what you should know:
What is Eloxal / Colinal?
"Eloxal” and “Colinal” coatings are produced by a galvanic process. This means that it is not a layer of powder or paint that is applied to the aluminium. Instead, the coating is applied by an electrochemical reaction that forms a thin, durable layer on the surface of the aluminium.
Why might there be colour variations?
Colour variations can occur in Eloxal and Colinal coatings for a number of reasons:
What does this mean for the customer?
It is important to have realistic expectations. It is virtually impossible to achieve perfect colour uniformity between different aluminium parts. Small colour deviations are normal and unavoidable. However, these deviations do not affect the quality or functionality of the coating. Colour deviations are a natural part of the Eloxal / Colinal coating process and are not a sign of inferior quality.
Recommendation:
In case precise color samples are required, there is the possibility to work with border samples for a fee and have them confirmed by the customer.
