Drive Installation instructions

The installation instructions for the electric drive have been updated and supplemented with the following topics:

  • Drives meet a counter-running, manually operated sliding element
  • Building automation: electrical connection clarified
  • Troubleshooting extended

Drives meet a counter-running, manually operated sliding element

As soon as a manually operated sliding element (without drive, manual = “M”) can be pushed in the opposite direction of a power-operated sliding element (with SI-1000 drive), the manually operated sliding element must be queried. This means that the drive is blocked if the open, manually operated sliding element is in the travel range of a powered sliding element in order to prevent collision and de-adjustment.

A magnetic contact (= position monitoring “P”) is used for this purpose. There are two variants, which are now described in the installation instructions, including the corresponding setting options in the service software.

Building automation: electrical connection clarified

The detailed description of connecting a building automation system has been slightly improved to prevent misunderstandings:

"The connection option for a building automation system is located in the service opening of the master drive (A). The building automation can be connected both, to the standard button interface (= connection for dead man's control button) and to the “Sky-Frame Touch Receiver” (optional) on terminals 1-3."

→ This means that a "Touch" operating handle is NOT required for connection to a building automation system.

It also states that:

"The use of position monitoring (P) is recommended, as this is the only way to provide the building automation system with information on whether the system is closed. The drives do not provide direct feedback on the position of the sliding elements or the status of the system to the building automation system."

In future, a note will be displayed in the Webshop so that position monitoring and the necessary supply lines are already taken into account in the planning phase.

Troubleshooting extended

The "detailed troubleshooting" has been extended by 4 additional checkpoints:

  • System cannot be controlled
  • Problems with connection to laptop / Sky-Impulse
  • Drive without values, STATUS 0
  • "Touch" operating button does not respond

With the help of all troubleshooting checkpoints, it should now be possible for any installer to put a non-functioning system back into operation.
